Art Camp and other #Stuff

 Loving the #StuffMyGirlSays this week!

Pic is from the art camp we had in our backyard when Jess was 7.

Age 7

She said, "Did anyone like my painting?"

I said, "They loved it! Your painting got 2 times as many likes as mine."

#StuffMyGirlSays "It is probably because I'm a kid. Facebookers like kids."

Age 6

Lovin' my girl's rendition of "This girl is on fire!"

#StuffMyGirlSays "This song is really about me isn't it mom?!"

Age 6

"All my pictures have trees in them. Do you know what means? So people will know there is air in my pictures."

Age 6

"You were right! It is much more pleasant when I don't freak out!"

Age 6

Gave Jessie a bag of old costume jewelry to use as "treasure."

She, "Wow, these diamonds are beautiful!"

Me, "Those aren't diamonds. They are crystals that look like diamonds."

She, "Are they fools diamonds? I hope not because they are very unlucky mom."

Who knew!! LOL

Age 5

Regarding collision in a tube slide, "That boy wasn't trying to hurt me. He just wants me to be a super hero. Maybe he can teach me!"

Age 4

"Why does Giada always cook? I think her husband should do it sometimes."

Age 4

Hilarious and manipulative

"Mommy you always love me for half the day then you don't"

"Why do you say that Jessie?"

 "I don't know. Can I have a chocolate now?"

Age 4

"Daddy, I asked you to do something and you're not doing it!"

Age 3

"It was a really perfect day but let's all make music now."

As part of that backyard camp mentioned above, I had the kids do Louise Nevelson (one of my favorite artists) inspired pieces. Of course I had to get in on the fun too. The black one is mine. Trailblazer Jess did hers in blue. 8 years later I got to show Jess a real one at MOMA in NYC.

She was disappointed to find out that the real one was huge and that we hadn't made really big ones in our art camp!
