She, "I don't expect that!"

That was Jess—sharp, funny, and never afraid to keep me grounded.I really love that Jess and I had the kind of irelationship in which she could tell me things like this.

She had this uncanny ability to remind me, in the most humorous ways, that parenting isn’t about having all the answers. I never felt like I knew exactly what I was doing. Was I too strict? Too lenient? Who really knows? Parenting felt like a constant guessing game, but moments like that reminded me that it’s totally okay laugh at yourself. 

Parenting isn’t about perfection. It’s about the connection, the love, and the moments—big and small—that stick with you forever. And Jessica gave me so many of those moments.💕
