More on "Don’t eat that!"

Lillian started doing impressions of their friends.(I can't seem to find hers but I know I have them somewhere!) Jessie thought it was fun too so we would ask her "What does Emily say?" and she would reply "Emily say DA" (Emily is German!). In her world Lillian says "HaHaHa", Peter says "Lucy ' (his little sister's name), and Emma (who sadly moved to Chicago) says "NO NO."... Sometimes she would update the impressions based on what was happening at the moment but generally speaking these guys have said the same things for months!

This weekend we had brunch with some friends and Jessie decided to do her impressions of all her friends and somehow the question "What does Daddy say?" followed by "What does Mommy say?" came into the mix. Rob was delighted to know that Jessie thinks Daddy says "Jessie!!!" in an excited and happy tone. Jessie even clapped and jumped up and down as she told us "Daddy says, JESSIE!!"

Next came, what does Mommy say? Jessie thought for a second and calmly said, "Don't eat that!" LOL As a mommy with a girl who STILL eats fist fulls of sand on the playground can I say anything else?

Jessie was singing this yesterday. "Old MacDonald had a mommy. A don't eat that here and a don't eat that there, a don't eat that everywhere!"

Under the heading "Things I never thought I'd say to my kids."  --- from my brother, "Don't eat the cat food. You already brushed your teeth!"
