Belgatos Park gathering and tie-dye project for Jessica Sprinkle

Hosts: Lisa Koza, Stacey Acton, Halina Gallagher, and Sara Tavernise

Dear Mulberry Community,

Please join us in honoring the life of Jessica Sprinkle, Mulberry style. Jessica’s sudden death in a car crash last month shocked our entire community, dispersed though we may be. Jessica loved Belgatos Park, and she loved tie-dye, so to honor her memory and as a gift to her parents, Kathy and Rob, we plan to create personalized tie-dyed memorial flags. We are inspired by the Tibetan Buddhist belief that flags are symbols of impermanence, and as the wind blows them, the intention of their creation is carried into the world.

How can you participate? If you are able to join us at the park, please arrive before 11:30 a.m., as we hope to do a group photo at that time. Bring a chair/blanket and a picnic lunch, Spring Sing style. We will have all the materials to write or draw on blank flags and tie-dye them in colors honoring Jessica’s memory.

If you are unable to attend but want to participate in the project, please send the message you would like to convey, and one of the hosts will create a flag with that message on your behalf.  You can share a memory of Jessica, a poem, a symbol – whatever represents your connection and that you believe would honor her spirit and bring comfort to her family.

Please feel free to forward this to anyone. We are going through old rosters for contact information and don’t want to miss or exclude anyone connected to Jessica and Mulberry.

Warmly,

Lisa  Stacey Halina  and Sara
