The Bot Story Part 1

 

The story of Jess at Mulberry would not be complete without talking about Bots! I first learned about Bots at the World Domination Summit (an amazing event that focused on Community, Adventure and Service -- and its own story for another day!) At the conference , Gary Hirsch introduced his tiny pocket robots, which are programmed to bring joy and other things 🙂. 

The Bots are magical and when he encouraged us to "Steal this Idea," (go here to learn all about it https://youtu.be/puPC5lX64j0?si=nSEeLBtUWaau2Cdp ) I decided the kids at Mulberry would have a blast doing so. I talked to Jess about the idea and she was all in! She thought it was a great idea and took it upon herself to get everyone else excited about it. 

When Gary visited the school,Jess could not contain herself. She practically levitated with excitement to give the joy bot she made for him! 2014. 

We did a whole school presentation and Jess was thrilled to be a part of it. We did disappoint her a bit by letting Gary talk more than her but from that day she definitely became Mulberry's #1 Bot spokesperson. 

In this first picture she is giving Gary a Love Bot she made for him. The beauty of a Bot is that anyone can make them and they do wield a lot of power.
